Really Old Hawaii, Vintage 1916
Amazing video by a Dutch film crew working in Hawaii in 1916, with footage of a Hawaii Consolidated Railway train on the Hamakua coast, Hilo Bay and Makee Island in Kapiolani Park. The soundtrack is a hoot!
Translations of the title cards:
- Bird’s-eye view of the Hawaiian Islands.
- The islands belong to the Sandwich Isles. The landscape is very mountainous.
- A ride on the Hilo track.
- The natives fish in the surf with the help of nets.
